Product Information

Developed in collaboration with Patagonia ambassadors and field testers, our Yulex Impact Short John provides supplemental protection and flotation for increased safety in the heaviest and most hazardous surf. Lined with stretchy 100% recycled polyester and made from 1.5mm 85% Yulex natural rubber/15% synthetic rubber by polymer content that meets our rigorous standards for strength, durability and flex, it can be worn on its own in warm water or under a wetsuit in cooler conditions. The anatomically placed 25mm EVA foam panels offer impact cushioning for the core, thighs and seat while allowing the quickness and freedom of movement needed in big waves; the chest panels are removable for surfers who prefer more direct contact with the deck of their board. Patterned to hold snug to the body through the strongest underwater turbulence, the zipperless design is entered through either of the two armholes; flatlock and zigzag seam construction provide streamlined comfort and additional durability. Exterior fabric is durable, water-resistant 88% recycled polyester/12% spandex. Made in a Fair Trade Certified facility.
