As the name suggests, slits in the suspension line allow the hammock to be attached directly with a carabiner. Alternatively, a knot in the end of the suspension line can be run through the hammock anchor loop and back on itself by threading through two or three slits in the line. The slit-cord line is a secure way to hang a hammock and allows rapid deployment and breakdown.
